What a wonderful start to 2023! January has been an amazing month for proposals and engagements here on the Big Island. I am having SO much fun this month taking couple’s engagement photos in Hawaii! What is “engagement season”? I had no idea before I became a photographer. There is a “peak season” for engagements! Statistically the Holiday season is when most partner’s will “pop the question”. I am extra fortunate that many of those couples decide to get engaged while on vacation here on the Big Island and have me photograph it for them. I love being apart of every couple’s special proposal, and even helping plan the big moment. It’s amazing to be there to capture them getting down on one knee, and then taking their Big Island engagement photos. Being a Big Island engagement photographer is seriously have the best job ever!
Eashani and Srikanth’s Big Island Engagement session
Eashani and Srikanth were just love and light! After enjoying their proposal back home, they wanted to celebrate with beautiful photos commemorating this time in their lives. This amazing CA Bay Area couple knew they wanted a beach setting for their Big Island engagement session, and we found the perfect one with lava, turtles and a gorgeous sunset!
Naomi and Joe’s Big Island Proposal
Joe had been working with me for months. He planed a secret surprise proposal with Naomi on a private little local beach. Joe dropped to one knee with a huge and enthusiastic “YES” from Naomi! Was a magical day for a Kona beach engagement!
Paige and Tyler’s proposal and Big Island engagement
Tyler chose to propose on the Big Island at the Auberge Mauna Lani Resort. Their families have been coming here for years, and he knew it had a very special place in both their hearts. Paige and Tyler also enjoyed escaping the super cold weather back home in Canada. Paige and Tyler soaked up the sun while gazing at her gorgeous diamond! They definitely made some amazing memories after getting engaged on the Big Island, and hope to see them in the future.
Hope and Doug’s Big Island Engagement Photos
Doesn’t this beauty give you Princess Ariel vibes? Hope and Doug were recently engaged back home back in Minnesota. They are planning a beautiful wedding back home, so they knew they wanted some amazing beach photos from Hawaii! Their Big Island engagement session was amazing! We had so much fun, got a little wet, and even celebrated with some bubbly spray. Love is better on the beach!
